Chacha’s Pierogi

811 King St East, Hamilton ON
Find them at next weekend’s I Heart Beer Festival!
With many of the more traditional European stores closing (Helen’s, Shirins), well-made pierogis are surprisingly hard to find in the city. Enter Chachas!
With a Ukrainian background, owner, Lyndsay, basically grew up on pierogis – so she knows how they should taste, how they should be served and generally is just a pierogi master…or “passionate pierogi maker” as she likes to say!
Chachas aims to bring pierogis to the masses. Choose from savory or sweet, in a few different flavours – Order them online, Lyndsay will create them, and then you go and pick up the order at Kitchen Collective (or choose delivery!).
Easy as pie and way tastier than the frozen ones you get at the grocery store!
Speaking of pie…when I visited, that’s what I tried: Apple Pie Pierogis topped with ice cream and cinnamon.
I had never actually tried a sweet pierogi before but I can’t wait for my next experience with these little pockets of deliciousness! Luckily I won’t need to wait that long, because I’ll get more this weekend at the I Heart Beer Festival – plus some savoury ones!
