This past weekend I was invited to a media event at Pattie’s Burger Bar with jojoinstameets. I had yet to visit their East Mountain location, but had been salivating over their photos online…so I knew the moment I was asked to this event, it had to be a yes.
My hairdresser is up nearby the Pattie’s Burger location, and one of my best friends lives up in the area, so it’s an area I know pretty well. There’s not too much going on in terms of independent food offerings up there…so it’s a great location for Pattie’s Burger Bar.
In an unassuming little strip plaza, right on the corner of Rymal Rd and Fletcher, you’ll find the burger joint. Either by sight or scent 😉 Inside: a bright graffiti burger wall surrounded by white décor and the smiling face of Patrick or Jen awaiting your order.
Pattie’s Burger Bar is a family-run joint, with the owners Patrick (aka Pattie) and Jen calling the East Mountain ‘home’ not only to their business, but for their family.
Onto the food!
Pattie’s serves up hearty burgers made with the finest Prime Rib that they can source. On their Chef’s choice menu, they offer six different topping options with two other burger features that were so popular they have made it to the main menu!
While there, I tried their Ohana burger (a patty topped with peameal bacon, jalapeno cheddar, chipotle aioli and a grilled pineapple ring) and their fries – which were perfectly salted, soft and crispy at the same time.
Grilled pineapple on anything is my kryptonite, so I loved this. The bun was also perfect for the burg, and it wasn’t too huge that I had to unhinge my jaw to eat it. A+. I also snuck some of I’m Mad Hungry’s Onion Rings (would order these again FOR SURE).
Also – look at this beast of a burger, also known as the Widow Maker, which is topped with Peameal Bacon, Onion Straws, Jalapeno Cheddar, Smoked Brisket, and Chipotle Mayo.
Patrick likes to say that all their menu items are just ideas for the customer – the world is really their oyster; Whatever you want, they’ll make it, and they also offer a large menu of toppings that you’re able to add to either a Prime Rib patty or a Vegan patty.
On top of the drool-worthy burgers they serve up, their menu includes poutines (Classic, Beef Brisket and even Vegan) and Jumbo Chicken Wings which can be slathered in a variety of their sauces (Mild, Medium, Hot or Honey Garlic).
For dessert – make sure to ask about their Pattie cakes! Cake balls soaked in salted caramel and dusted with cinnamon and sugar.
If you’re in the area, this is a great lunch location for vegans, meat-eaters and everything inbetween. The delicious food and warm customer service – like you’re a part of their family – will keep you coming back time and again.
