Sixth Annual Buffalo Beer Week to Have a Strong Canadian Presence and Flavour

The 6th Annual Buffalo Beer Week, to be held this year from Thursday, September 25, through Sunday, October 4, will for the first time boast a strong Canadian presence, featuring breweries from across Southern Ontario and Québec and events hosted by Canada’s leading beer authority, Stephen Beaumont.

A 10-day celebration of the burgeoning Buffalo-Niagara craft beer movement, Buffalo Beer Week includes dozens of dinners, tastings and other assorted events held throughout the Buffalo Niagara Region, all aimed at showcasing the astounding array of craft beers available in the area and broadening awareness of the region’s great brewing heritage.

This year, in addition to the participation of several Canadian breweries, Buffalo Beer Week will feature Stephen Beaumont, the internationally renowned craft beer expert from Toronto. Author of the forthcoming Beer & Food Companion and co-author of the internationally best-selling World Atlas of Beer, Stephen will co-host a unique food and craft beer pairing event at one of Buffalo’s hottest restaurants, Oshun Oyster Bar, and lead an historic rare beer tasting at the legendary Buffalo beer destination, the Pizza Plant Italian Pub.

Canadian breweries participating in the 6th Annual Ballpark Brew Bash at Coca-Cola Field in downtown Buffalo today (Saturday, September 26th) will include:
Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company (Vankleek Hill, Ontario)
Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery (Barrie, Ontario)
Cameron’s Brewing Company (Oakville, Ontario)
Mill St. Brew Pub (Toronto, Ontario)
Muskoka Brewery (Bracebridge, Ontario)
Unibroue (Chambly, Quebec)

A flagship event of Buffalo Beer Week is Vines & Bines, a unique ‘farm-to-table’ wine and beer dinner featuring Canadian beer expert Stephen Beaumont and Niagara-on-the-Lake trained winemaker, Jonathon Oakes. The dinner takes place on Tuesday, September 29, at the popular Oshun Oyster Bar in downtown Buffalo and will feature six farm-to-table courses expertly paired with the craft beers and fine wines of New York state, southern Ontario and beyond.
