The Coop Wicked Chicken
The Coop Wicked Chicken now does weekend brunch! Yep, you heard me right. It hasn’t arrived in Hamilton yet, but it will very soon.
I had the luxury of heading to the Burlington location for a free media tasting (they started out launching the brunch menu in Burlington) a couple weekends ago with a bunch of other food bloggers and food-grammers. As always with the Coop, it was a crazy amount of food!
Now that I have finally digested 😉 I’m ready to share what I thought:
Tater Tot Poutine
Crispy tots, chz curds, sriracha, white gravy, fried egg, bacon.
I am a sucker for all thing potato (can you tell by my new #GTAtaters venture?), and tater tots. So this one was a huge winner for me, and quite possibly my favourite dish of the day. Loved the white gravy that they chose for it, plus that runny egg yolk all over the tots… I’d get this again for sure!
Nashville Chicken Benny
Two poached eggs, crispy chicken, tomato, homemade waffles, Coop style Nashville hollandaise, smashed chzy nachos.
I just want to smash this crispy chicken into my piehole, it is so good. Add some yolky eggs to it and you’ve got the most delicious breakfast Benny. Try this, seriously.
Coop Breakfast Sandwich
Fried egg, tomato, jalapeno herb chimichurri. Pick one: toasted buttered English muffin or sesame bun, bacon or sausage.
Loved the jalapeno herb chimichurri on this. I could literally eat that sauce on EVERYTHING. This was just a yummy well-rounded sandwich.
Chzy Chorizo Sandwich
Fried egg, pimento chz, tomato, chorizo patty, jalapeno herb chimichurri. Pick one: toasted buttered English muffin or sesame bun, bacon or sausage.
I was intensely full by this point – so this sandwich tasted a lot like the one before it (to me). The addition of the Pimento Chz was nice though. If I was to get it again I’d try it with the sesame bun! It was more on the spicy side – so if you’re going to order it, make sure you like spice!
Drinks
“Not Your Average Mimosa”s
Pretty tasty mimosa! It had Peach Schnapps in it, which added an extra little sweetness.
Deviled Caesars
Now…I don’t like Caesars (weird, I know!), but I love the idea of the deviled egg served with your drink. Who doesn’t love deviled eggs? Try it, let me know how you like it.
Grapefruit Margarita
I got this without tequila so it was pretty much just grapefruit juice, lime juice and agave. Yummy, but you have to enjoy sharp grapefruit flavour, because the flavour takes over.
Milkshakes
At this point of the meal, I was halfway dead and extremely full. But someone said there was milkshakes, so I knew I had to pull up my big girl pants and try one. I went with classic Chocolate, but there was also Vanilla, Strawberry, Cotton Candy and Bubble Gum! It was like a more chocolatey version of a frosty – totally up my alley and totally something I’d order again.
Oh – did I mention they also have board games? AND you can show up in your PJs (they actually WELCOME it) and they’ll give you 10% off your meal if you do!
