Saha Dinners
An In-Home Dinner Series

One of the very best things about being a food blogger, is not only all the delicious food you get to eat along the way, but the amazing experiences you get to take part in! The new Saha Dinners (The At-Home Dinner Series based out of Hamilton) is the best of both worlds.
About the Experience – On Eastbourne Avenue in Hamilton, you will head up to a third-floor home which has been set for an intimate dinner just for you and your group! As it’s in a home, the table seats around 2 – 4 people.
Once there, you will be treated to a candlelit dinner service at an elegant emerald-themed table, courtesy of Chef Khalil Omar and his wife.
Saha is a word that in the Middle-East is said to someone to wish him/her good health, usually before and after a meal.
Saha Dinners is a concept by Chef Khalil Omar. Chef Khalil got his start cooking in Ottawa, at his father’s Middle Eastern Restaurant ‘Jericho’. He found his passion for food there, and as he grew up, began working at French fine dining restaurants in Ottawa. From there he worked around the world, training in fine dining restaurants – such as the 1 Michelin star restaurant ‘Abysse’ and the 2 Michelin starred ‘Zurriola’!
The Saha Dinners experience includes a tasting menu of either 3 or 5 courses (depending on the option you choose) of cuisine from the Levant and Eastern Mediterranean peninsula; fine-dining style. Chef Khalil aims to take his visitors “on a journey of ancient dishes using both contemporary and traditional techniques”. At Saha, they use ingredients from local Canadian farms and transform them into centries-old cuisine.
When we visited for the In-Home Dinner Series we tried:
An amuse bouche, and as much Olive bread as we could enjoy!
Lentil shorba / walnut / preserved lemon / cardamom yogurt
Heirloom tomato / feta cream / arugula
Rib of lamb / maftoul / mint and pistachio emulsion
Loin of rabbit / burghul rillette / salt baked turnip / prune jus
Citrus macerated strawberry / rosewater mascarpone / cardamom meringues / mint
Aren’t those plates just gorgeous? If you can believe it, they tasted even better than they look!
Try the Saha Dinners experience for yourself!
